Poultry Show

Chooks of all shapes, sizes and hues, swapped old hens' yarns with pigeons and game birds when the annual show of the Nelson Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Club was held earlier this month. There were several unusual birds shown, one of the most unusual being the jacabin pigeon owned by George Smith (below). Somewhere in the middle of all those feathers is a pigeon. At right, judge Tom Bright on the job.
