Blenheim ploughman, P. I. McCallum, beat his other seven competitors to win the Nelson provincial section of the Atlantic Silver Plough contest at Appleby earlier this month. He will contest the New Zealand final.

The Nelson contest was held on the Appleby property of Messrs R. and F. O'Connor, well-known breeders of draught horses. One of the features of the day was a draught horse race.

Cheerful-looking judges are Ian McCallum (Blenheim) and George Blick (Murchison).
