Au Revoir "Anzac Revue"

We feel like crying. And why shouldn't we? After all, it hurts when something' bright and wonderful goes out of your life, probably for ever. And that's just what's happened. The Tin Hat Club's "Anzac Revue" has finished. These revues first saw the light in 1947, two years after the end of the war, when everybody was badly in need of a smile or two. It ended with "Break it Up", last month, just 25 productions later. In this period the club's revue company has cheered the hearts of some 50,000 with its humour, satire and singing, and it has raised more than $10,000 for R.S.A. welfare work. As we said before, we're saddened that a company that has given such tremendous pleasure to us and thousands of other Nelsonians has had to break up. But, it's no use moaning. Instead, on behalf of everybody who has derived pleasure from the revues, we offer to the revue company our heartfelt thanks for all the happiness you've spread around in 22 years.
