Roving Camera
From the rock-strewn river bed, the new Gisborne to Opotiki highway bridge at the eastern end of the Otoko township, overshadows the old one-way bridge that it replaces. The new bridge is part of major highway reconstruction in the area, which also includes the utilization of several miles of the old railway route.
These peanuts were grown in the back-yard of a Gisborne resident, Mr Herb George, who last October, bought some peanuts, shelled them, and planted them in a similar fashion to beans. Five months later, Herb's modest crop of peanuts was ready to harvest.
