Mr S. T. Lewis, sitting in the cintique chair which was presented to him on his retirement from the position of official accompanist and pianist for the Gisborne Savage Club. With him are Savages Wilfred C. Kohn (musical director), Ray Crosby (Rangatira), and Bd Caughey (secretary). Mr Lewis has been a member of the club for 44 years, has played in the orchestra for 25 years, and has been official accompanist for over 12 years.

From Vancouver, the engagement is announced between Bernard, youngest son of Mr and Mrs E. R. Hambly, Ballance Street, Gisborne, and Patricia May, daughter of Mr and Mrs Billiard, Victoria, Vancouver Island, Canada.
