In our colour cover photograph this month Mrs Marie Donaldson is pictured holding a couple of bunches of Albany Surprise grapes, at Mr M. W. Douglas's Sunny Valley vineyard at Hexton. The grape harvest this year was the best for a long time, and Mrs Donaldson was one of many sorters and packers who spent several busy weeks on the job.

Back Cover. Something of a rarity is this Australian Flame Tree which we photographed about Christmas-time at the home of Mr and Mrs W. Barwick, this side of Te Karaka. It blooms like this for many weeks with a profusion of orange-red flowers.
