Sea Scouts Launch New Boat

The Tainui Sea Scouts' new boat, Tuahine, was officially launched at a ceremony at the troop's boatshed grounds on the Waimata River recently. The boat was dedicated by Rev. I. Dixon and the launching ceremony was performed by Mrs D. A. Wells, wife of the chairman of the group committee, after which a crew of scouts put the new vessel through its paces on the river.

The Tuahine, which was built in Nelson, is of kauri and rimu construction and is valued at almost £400.
