Search And Rescue
The Gisborne branch of the Search and Rescue Organisation recently held a trial search in the Matokitoki Valley area to test the efficiency of the organisation and its equipment,
Each of the four parties of six men was equipped with radio. Hourly reports were sent to headquarters in the search area which in turn maintained radio contact with the Gisborne police station.
