Mrs M. Trengrove, Karamu Street, recently celebrated her 80th birthday at a party given by her daughter, Mrs C. F. Low, Aberdeen Road.

Mr Ivan Wilson, pictured at his farewell party given by the Waikanae Surf Club, shortly before his transfer to the Child Welfare Department of Nelson. Mr Wilson was prominent in swimming circles in the district for many years.

Mr R. N. Poulgrain (right) being farewelied by Mr H. Holt, the new managing director of Altken's Timber Mill. Mr Poulgrain had been with the firm for 44 years and had been manager for 11 years. Looking on is his replacement, Mr D. Sutcliffe.
