"Wanganui Photo News" editor Rob Graham took this historic picture as Peter Snell breasted the tape in his world-record utile run at Cooks Gardens.

And "Nelson Photo News" editor Barry Simpson took this one of Gisborne's "Miss Personality" (Rosalie Scandrett) admiring the beauties of Nelson Haven from Victoria Heights during her recent visit to the cotton-less south. The trip to Nelson was part of Rosalie's prize.

A gloom was cast over the Gisborne district when it was learned that two passengers in the Dragonfly aircraft missing on a scenic flight from Christchurch were Mr and Mrs E. Saville. Mrs Saville, the former Valerie Bignell, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Bignell, Waipaoa, was married only recently, and her wedding group appeared in the last issue of "Photo News".

Four Generations This four-generation picture is of local interest. It shows, from left, Mrs F. Kerr, Tauranga (grandmother), Mrs K. Carr, Hexton (great-grandmother), Mrs M. Dixon, Whangarei (mother), and Elizabeth Dixon.

Plaited Carrot. Odd-shaped carrots come and go, but this one is something out of the ordinary. Dug in the garden at 181 Wainui Road, it was found to have three roots, neatly plaited, as the photograph shows.
