In the picturesque surroundings of the Kelvin Park, the annual Carols by Candlelight service, organised by the Y.M.C.A., drew a large attendance of the public just before Christmas. Strings of coloured lights in the trees enhanced the fairytale atmosphere as family groups, seated on the lawns, sang the familiar airs to music by the Salvation Army band.
