Gisborne Win L.V.A Rowing
The Gisborne Rowing Club, competing in its first regatta of the season, got off to a good start when it took the LVA Shield off Wairoa. Rowing against strong opposition from Hawkes Bay and Wairoa, the Gisborne teams made a grand effort to take 3 wins and 4 second placings, making this one of the most successful showings the club has had for several years. The three winning crews are pictured here at training on the Taruheru River.
The maiden crew which won the maiden class and was second in the senior fours are from left: B. Poole (cox), S. Radford (stroke), P. King, K. Beuth, and P. Walker.
The novice fours winners are from left: K. Muir, M. Jones, K. Findsen, B. Rean (stroke), and R. Dunshea (cox).
