P.B. v. H. B. Rugby

In a bright open display of football Poverty Bay were sadly defeated by the visiting Hawkes Bay team by 26 points to 9 at Rugby Park last month. Played on a good field and under perfect weather conditions the game opened in the home sides favour when winger Brian Johnson went over in the corner for an unconverted try. However, Hawkes Bay's fast agile backline soon reversed this advantage with some brilliant movements which completely outclassed their opponents. H. B. Flanker, Tony Small, goal kicked very well and claimed 14 points off his boot.
