Putting In The Pipes

Residents are becoming more conscious with every passing day that the Gisborne City Council's massive water and sewerage schemes are now well under way.

Construction of the Nob Hill reservoir is expected to start soon, but no date has been fixed yet for the most interesting stage of the scheme, projecting the big outfall into the bay.

Pipeline progress through city shopping area is now completed.

Meanwhile much shoring and pumping has been necessary to get 12" sewer mrin along Wainui Road. This picture was taken near the Tyndall Road junction.

Work has been done with a minimum of disruption, thanks partly to wide street and co-operation of traffic officers.
