Badminton Champions

There were some major upsets in the Gisborne Badminton Club's championships this year, the most notable being the defeat in the first round of the reigning men's champion (since 1951), S. Robb, and the emergence of several young players in this division who should go a long way in the game. These include B. Greentree, D. Carswell and T. Allen. As the eliminating rounds progressed, Allen emerged as the winner.

In the women's division, Mrs D. Hansard (Di Renner) and Mrs J. Robb maintained their supremacy, the former defeating the latter in the final.
