A "Photo News" cameraman, ever on the alert for new angles on his city, climbed high on Monk Bros.' big crane at the Y.M. building in Childers Road reserve to shoot this unusual view of Victoria Domain basketball courts. Play in progress is for the Henderson Shield.

Gisborne's most picturesque playing fields, however, are in Anzac Park, where junior soccer players compete on Saturday mornings. This picture, taken from across the waimata River, shows games in progress on a recent Saturday.
