Double Celebration

On Graduation Day, May 4th, in Christchurch, Mr Roger McLean, second son of Mr and Mrs J. J. McLean, 15 Dominion Road, Gisborne, was capped Master of Arts with First Class Honours. Mr McLean, a former head prefect of Gisborne Boys' High School, has been studying at the University of Canterbury for the last four years and is now lecturer in Geography at the University of Auckland.

On the same day, at Graduation Ball, the engagement was announced between Mr Roger McLean, and Miss Margaret Barrett, eldest daughter of Captain and Mrs F. A. Barrett, 138 Kawai Street, Nelson.

The couple intend marrying in August and will leave after the wedding for Montreal, Canada, where Mr McLean has won a scholarship to continue Post-Graduate study and research at McGill University.
