The "Swan" in the Harbour
Back again after an absence of 12 months, the Royal Australian Navy's frigate "Swan" made an impressive picture (above) as she entered the Gisborne harbour basin. A round of social and sporting activities marked her two-day stay, and on one afternoon she was thrown open to the public for inspection.
First aboard was local Naval Liaison Officer Mr Owen Poole.

Hundreds of folk took the opportunity to inspect the "Swan".
