Something Else From The East Coast

A radio broadcast from Wainui Beach is a rarity, and so are the little furry fellows seen below. They are rabbits, and they were caught by East Coast Rabbit Board foreman Charles Denton "up the coast and not a hundred miles from Gisborne". The doe and her seven children were dug out of a burrow, and the buck was caught by the dogs nearby. Mr Denton is seen holding the two parents in picture at left. Their capture rewards the constant vigilance of the Board and its officers in the task of keeping the district rabbit-free.
