Married recently at St. Mary's, Tikitiki, were Addie Dewes, daughter of Mr and Mrs Pat Dewes, of Tikitiki, and Horowai Puketapu, son of Mr Tim Puketapu, Tikitiki. Evelyn Dewes of Opotiki was the chief bridesmaid, assisted by Sarah Puketapu, of Tikitiki. Sonny Puketapu was best man and Guy Dewes was groomsman. The flower girl was Betty Waitoa. Future home, Taradale.

Gillian, the youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr V. F. Hurlstone, of 32 Roebuck Road, who recently celebrated her 21st birthday.

How's this for a pile of soapsuds? When she saw it Mrs Judy McIntosh, of Salisbury Road, got the surprise of her life. All she had done was mix some soap shavings with a well-known washing powder, and left her washing-machine going with the lid off. When she came back here was this mountain of oddly-tough and cohesive suds going to and fro.

Elgin's new Anglican Church is now rapidly taking shape. It is situated in upper Childers Road. This picture was taken last week.
