Tommy Shean did the only thing possible in the circumstances...he rang for another breakdown van. Mishap was caused by broken stub axle.

Moa pelvis bone was found near Lake Waikaremoana recently by Mr R. Cresweil, of Gisborne.
A number of moa skeletons have been found in Waikaremoana district, but this is the most notable of recent discoveries.

Outsize beet grown by Mr and Mrs Sartor, 213 Ormond Road, weigh, respectively, 3lb, 2lb and 1lb.

Mr and Mrs H. Carter, Gisborne, who flew to Australia last month for the wedding of Mrs Carter's grand-nephew at Gympie, Queensland. Mr Carter has a brother in Gympie whom he has not seem for 59 years. By now they will be enjoying their long-delayed reunion.
