Four Years to Go

Work on the Morere highway from Glsborne to Wairoa would be completed as promised in another four years, said the Minister of Works, Mr Watts, on a recent visit to Glsborne.

The Minister, who travelled to Gisborne by road during a period of heavy rain, saw the road at its worst--even worse than these pictures show.

He was greatly concerned with the state of the "highway".
