Boatshed Opened

For some months now, volunteer workers have been hammering and sawing to build what must be one of Gisborne's most inconspicuous labours of love--the building of the Tainui Sea Scouts' new boat shed on the banks of the Waimata River. Inconspicuous, because the building itself is hidden away down the quiet end of Vogel Street, opposite the Macrae Baths, so that although it is in the heart of the city, it stands in a quiet little world of its own, with the river only a few feet from the door.

The shed was officially opened recently, when these pictures were taken.
