Talent Quest
Unfavourable weather affected the success of the £100 Talent Quest entertainments at Waikanae Beach during Christmas-New Year holidays, but with an improvement in the temperature, some big crowds attended. They were rewarded with a parade of attractive talent.
Winners of the contest were the Kini quartet, of Gisborne, In the top picture at left Esther Taihuka is seen accepting the big cheque from the Mayor, Mr Barker.
An item proceeding in the improved sound shell, which was being used for the first time.
