Up, Over, Round, Down

Here you see Richard Swindell, of Gisorne, perforating a dive at the Macrae Baths. It is a one-and-a-half somersault with a double twist, one of the more difficult gyrations in a diver's repertoire.

Richard, who is regarded as N.Z.'s second top diver, will not be able to compete at the national championships this year. His obligations as a physical education instructor require him to be at a special course during that week.
