Although the bikini, that abbreviated form of bathing wear so frequently seen in the glossier overseas magazines, has never become popular with New Zealand girls, it is to be seen on this page in somewhat garbled versions. These muscular "beauts" (right) seen at a recent River-dale School social, look like a cross between Davy Crockett, the Corps de Ballet, and the Australian Gold Coast.
