Bowling Season Opened

The official opening of the 1959-60 bowling season in Gisborne, on Saturday, October 3, started in fair weather, and ended with the players and officials being driven indoors by a thunderstorm.

First club to be visited by officials of the Poverty Bay-East Coast Centre was the Poverty Bay Club in Ormond Road.

Here the ceremony was held outdoors as planned, as it was at the R. S. A. Club. But at the Gisborne and Kahutia clubs the season was opened indoors.
