Flames quickly destroyed this old house on Council property in Childers Road, next to the bus depot, but nobody was concerned--it was set on fire by the Brigade at the request of the Council. Brigadesmen used the opportunity to test equipment and tactics on a planned fire. (Picture from Mr Currow).
