Te Wiremu House

The foundation stone for Te Wiremu House, the new Anglican home for elderly people in Aberdeen Road, was laid recently in an impressive and largely-attended ceremony.

Speaking to the occasion, the Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt. Rev. N. A. Lesser, said that the new home was one of the fruits of the J. N. Williams Memorial Trust.

The stone was laid by Mrs H. B. Williams, a member of the Williams family which is contributing to the erection of the home through its trust.

Good progress is being made with the building, which should be completed by the end of the year, or soon after. The builder is Mr A. L. W. Martin, and the architect Mr C. A. Pilbrow.
