Gisborne by Night

×

The fairyland of city lights which can be seen from Kaiti Hill at night draws innumerable visitors to the Lookout. From the comfort of a car seat, the spectator can take in the broad panorama of the city by night, extending from Waikanae Beach round to upper Kaiti. The central section of this panorama appears above. The glow of Gladstone Road and the shopping centre forms a bright diagonal in the centre of the picture, and above this are the lights of Cook Hospital on the hill. At right are Stout Street, Ormond Road, and the harbour lights reflected in the inner basin.
