Buffet Dinner.

Gisborne's customary shrewd strategy, i.e., overwhelm the visitors with hospitality to slow them down on the field, was demonstrated at the buffet dinner on Monday night.

Pork, chicken, crays, rich desserts, and a hundred-and-one good things made the tables groan. Later, some of the visitors probably groaned too.

For entertainment, Mr G. Forrester told some excellent stories, Alf Sylvester and Noel oldridge did their "gulli-gulli" act, Mr Paterson entertained on the mouth organ, and Bill Burton, world champion archer, gave a demonstration with the bow.

And the Lions sang-very nicely, too.

The evening didn't seem to have the same flavour as when the 'Boks were here, and really let their hair down to the delight of all present. But the Lions boys had a right good time just the same.
