At the Races

The weather was cold but clear for the first day of the autumn meeting at Makaraka.

There was an exciting finish to the seventh race, the Publicans Purse, when H. V. Lunken's Prairie Robin beat N. M. McKenzie's Mireusonta by a nose.
The Uplands Lad—Prairie Robin Double paid £362.
The finish, with the winner nearest the camera.
