Historic Church

The long and varied history of the Matawhero Presbyterian Church is a subject of pride and interest for the whole district.

Originally a store owned by Captain Read, the building itself is now nearly a hundred years old. It was an Anglican Church for six years, and has been a Presbyterian Church for 86 years.
