"The Importance of Being Earnest"

Hundreds of school-children from as far away as Wairoa were among the audiences which attended the New Zealand Players' production of Oscar Wilde's famous play, "The Importance of Being Earnest," in the Opera House at Gisborne on Monday.

At left is Peter Adams, who played Lane. A newcomer to the Players, Peter hails from Hamilton. Centre is Barbara Leake as Lady Bracknell. At right, another newcomer is Roy Melford (as John Worthing, J.P.), who is well-known in Wellington Repertory circles.
