Fun & Games with Dogs & Deer

Any animal, says Mr A. D. Sherriff, of 426 Palmerston Road, can be trained to do tricks. All it requires is firm control and plenty of patience.

What Mr Sherriff, a retired farmer who was formerly at Otoko, can do with a couple of terriers, is shown on these pages.

In addition to the dogs, Mr Sherriff's daughter, Mrs H. M. Harvie, has a deer for a pet. Named Sherbi, it joined the Sherriff pet parade when 3 days old, a present from friends at Matawai.

Instantly Mr Sherriff plays the mouth-organ the dogs begin to sing. Rather off-key, we thought.

As a youngster, Sherbi was a most attractive pet. Now, reaching maturity, it has almost outlived its welcome, will shortly be moved to, larger quarters in the country.

Deer oh deer, what next?

Yes, dogs can be taught to do almost anything. Pip shows how a dog should not behave on the street.
