Our Bridge

In olden days, when a bridge was wanted, they bashed in a few piles, bolted on some runners, slapped down some decking, and.....hey presto, cut the ribbon and get the traffic moving.

But nowadays a bridge must be a proper bridge. It needs a lot of gear and a lot of experience, a lot of money, and apparently a lot of time.

It is now more than two years since the Roebuck Road bridge was closed. In another few months, it is hoped, the new bridge will be ready.
