High Jinks At Autumn Carnival
Favoured with perfect weather, the annual Autumn Carnival at the Showgrounds again attracted a large attendance of the public. An entertaining programme of events kept the audience interested, amused, and at times excited. For the cameramen in the ring, there was plenty to do, such as picturing Gordon Goodley riding in the drag race at forty miles an hour (above), or getting close enough to Ben Him's wild bull to capture this shot (below).
The visit of half a dozen first-class trotters from Hamilton provided the show with an exhibition of harness racinsg such as had not been seen here for 35 years.
