Saturday Morning
Although many were to bed late after the ball, most were back at the school in good time for the assembly and photographs next morning. Many-hued umbrellas and light raincoats helped to ward off the occasional showers. About 10 a.m. the sun came out and the crowd was divided into age groups.

Marshalling the gathering into its age groups for the photographs wasn't an easy task. It meant breaking up hundreds of groups of old pupils busy renewing old acquaintance. When the job was nearly done, the rain came with a rush, and that was that.
Everybody rushed helter-skelter for whatever shelter they could find. Most managed to pack into the assembly hall, from where they were directed in their groups into various classrooms.
