Record-breaker

A New Zealand record for the women's discus throw was established at the annual invitation athletic meeting at the Childers Road Reserve in January.

The record-breaker was Jennifer Thompson, of Waikato, who threw the discus 158ft 4in., or 2ft better than the existing record held by Val Sloper.
