Flower Show Special
A special attraction at a recent flower show was provided by the Gisborne group of the New Zealand Iris Society.
In a cleverly designed stall, taking up the centre of the rear wall, the display featured a number of cameos, each illustrating a prominent variety of iris.
One of the most eye–catching of the eight cameos, was this Arctic study labelled "Aurora Lights". Auroral effect was cleverly effected by back lighting on to a suitably painted backdrop.
Designated "Rocket", this simple yet effective study no doubt gained its inspiration from the current interest in space travel.
