An Ocean Greyhound

The 3,400 ton motor vessel Saracen, made her first visit to the Gisborne roadstead recently shortly after having completed her maiden voyage.

Painted light green with yellow funnel, the Saracen has some 200,000 cubic feet of refrigerated cargo space and is unique in that all this area can be cooled to a point below freezing. Saracen loaded cartooned meats for American markets.
