Gisborne at N.Z. Pony Champs

Thanks partly to the local branch of the N.Z. Pony Club, who defrayed transportation costs, Gisborne was represented at this year's championships, held at Blenheim.

Representing Gisborne were Carolyn Law and "Minnie", Elizabeth Mossman and "Cole", June Mitchell and "Comet", Geoffrey Wilson and "Omega" and Hazel Hollamby and "Killarney".

Transportation to Blenheim was no small feat. The horses were trucked to Paraparaumu and flown to Blenheim by Bristol freighter.

To unload the horses, a large mobile ramp was moved into position into the open nose of the freighter, and the special horse boxes moved on to waiting trucks.
