This is hardly the mushroom season, but, even so, these monsters were brought to the Photo News office just recently.
They were found on the side lawn of Poho-o-Rawiri Hall along with about a half dozen others of similar size.
To give an idea of their size, a half-crown has been placed on the largest mushroom in the right of the picture.

Two roadside signs which attracted Photo News cameraman as unusual.
Sign above suggests that while "unauthorised parking will be prosecuted", the person committing offence will go scot free.

Mr and Mrs R. Bartlett and their two children, Sheryl and Desmond, who recently left Gisborne to reside in Avondale, Auckland.
Mr Bartlett has been associated with the Railways Department in Gisborne for several years.
