A benefit game between Poverty Bay and East Coast Maoris and Pakehas drew a large crowd to Rugby Park on a recent Sunday afternoon.

To help raise funds a turkey was raffled.

To encourage better kicking, Mr B. Wolstenholme presented a cup for a goal-kicking competition. The three finalists were Storey, Beets and Kanaka. Winner Malcolm Beets is pictured below right with donor Bernie Wolstenholme.
