The Launching

Launching a boat is a big job at any time, but when the boat is a hulking 30feet in length, then the job becomes a marathon task.

Messrs Ron Crawshaw and Ian Miller had a big task on their hands when they launched their "Kaituna" at the Yacht Club's slipway recently.

The "Kaituna" was on Lake Waikaremoana for many years, the hull only was transported to Gisborne, where some 20 months of hard work went into rebuilding her.

Powered by a 60h.p. International Marine engine, "Kaituna" is the largest pleasure boat in Gisborne.
