This cat was indeed a "dark horse". Holding him is his owner Janette Gray, who has every reason to be proud of her pet - after all he walked off with nothing less than the "Best Cat in Show" citation from the Gisborne Cat Club's recent annual show.

Although "just another tabby" at first sight, "Puss" (his name) can claim quite a little more for his family tree than the average "tab".

Those huge eyes and long nose suggest a background of Egyptian and Persian breeding, putting him in a class of his own.
