Sea Rangers Celebrate

These "Endeavour" Sea Rangers have adopted their name from H.M.N.Z.S. "Endeavour" 2nd, a memento banner from which appears on the table around which the troop is grouped.

Sea Rangers can be described as senior girl guides, virtually an equivalent of the better known rover scouts.

Pictured are members and officers of "S. R. S. Endeavour" Sea Rangers, who recently celebrated their third birthday, with a ceremony held in the guide hall.
Officers pictured in the centre of the group are Mrs Nugent, divisional commissioner, Miss O'Halloran, skipper, and Mrs Mills, district commissioner.

Betty Lister, Jo Ivess and Mary Lister, who have been chosen to represent the Poverty Bay district at an international senior guide and ranger camp to be held in Melbourne next January. Needless to say January 1959 can't come too quickly for them.
