Baptist Church Jubilee

Gisborne's Baptist Church, the Church of Jesus Christ in Palmerston Road, celebrated its 50th anniversary last month, with a series of functions which were attended by many with associations going back to the early days of the century. The church building was commenced in 1905, and completed the following year, but the ministry lapsed in 1907, and it was not until 1908 that the church was properly constituted, with 24 foundation members. The only surviving member in the district is Mrs O. Crafts.
