Memorial Hall
The new memorial hall at Mangatu, officially opened on the same day as the new dining hall at Te Karaka, is seen in this picture taken from the road to Waipaoa Station. Most of those who attended the ceremonies at Te Karaka journeyed to Mangatu in the afternoon for the function there.
Among those who took prominent parts were Mr E. T. Tirikatene, associate to the Minister for Maori Affairs (in centre, front row), and the Bishop of Aotearoa, the Rt. Rev. W. Panapa (right).
