Lions and Leopards

Most lions and leopards seen in Gisborne are travelling round with the circus, and it pays to keep your distance, but up in Childers Road there are some specimens which allow much closer inspection.

They are part of a collection of curios brought back from South Africa by Mr Bruce Stacey, and include these two magnificent skins, one of a lioness, the other of a leopard.

With their heads set in the most ferocious expressions possible, they make ornamental if somewhat startling additions to the lounge.
